The Farmers’ Assembly on Climate Justice
A Farmers’ Assembly at the Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi brought together flood-affected farmers, civil society groups, policymakers and other participants to discuss climate justice.
The discussion focused on accountability for climate-related harm and support for communities affected by the 2022 floods. Speakers called for polluters to contribute to compensation and recovery.
The event offered farmers a platform to share their experiences and connect local recovery needs with wider policy discussions. This is an adapted account of the HANDS reference update.
